What We Believe

At New Life Bible Church, everything we do is centered on Jesus and the truth of God’s Word. Here are the essentials of our faith:

  • There is one God who reveals Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

    • Deuteronomy 6:4Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.

    • Matthew 28:19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

  • Jesus is God’s Son:

    • Born of a virgin“The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”). (Matthew 1:23)

    • Lived a perfect lifeHe committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth. (1 Peter 2:22)

    • Performed miraclesJesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know. (Acts 2:22)

    • Died for our sinsFor what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures. (1 Corinthians 15:3)

    • Rose againHe is not here; he has risen! (Luke 24:6)

    • Reigns in heaven and will returnAfter he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight. (Acts 1:9)

  • The Holy Spirit lives in every believer, giving power to live, serve, and grow more like Christ.

    • Acts 1:8But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

    • Romans 8:9You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ.

    • Galatians 5:22–23But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

  • We believe the Bible is God’s Word. It is true, trustworthy, and our guide for life and faith.

    • 2 Timothy 3:16–17All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

    • Hebrews 4:12For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

  • We are created in God’s image but broken by sin. Our only hope is forgiveness and new life through Jesus Christ.

    • Genesis 1:27So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

    • Romans 5:12Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned.

  • We are saved by God’s grace through faith in Jesus, not by our own efforts. Salvation brings us new life, the Spirit’s presence, and eternal hope.

    • Ephesians 2:8–9For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.

    • Titus 3:5He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.

    • Romans 10:9If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

  • The Church is God’s family on mission together, to worship, pray, grow, and share the gospel with the world.

    • Matthew 28:19–20Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them … and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.

    • Acts 2:42They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

    • Ephesians 1:22–23And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.

  • We believe Jesus will return, there will be a final judgment, and God will create a new heaven and new earth where His people will live with Him forever.

    • John 5:28–29“Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice and come out—those who have done what is good will rise to live, and those who have done what is evil will rise to be condemned.”

    • Titus 2:13… while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.

    • Revelation 21:1Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.

    • Baptism - A public declaration of faith in Jesus – We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. (Romans 6:4)

    • The Lord’s Supper - A reminder of His sacrifice and promise to return For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes. (1 Corinthians 11:26)
