Doing Life Together.

At New Life Bible Church, we understand that the Church is more than just a building. The Church is people. People who do life together. Life Groups give us an opportunity to build relationships and community with other believers outside of Sunday mornings. God did not create us to do life alone, but we know making real personal connections with other believers is not always so easy, so that where Life Groups comes in! Life Groups are meant to unite followers of Jesus with one another by “Doing Life Together!”

The Example.

“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.”

— Acts 2:42 - 47

 FAQs

  • A Life Group is 4 to 20 people gathering at the church building or in a Life Group leader’s home on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis to share food, fellowship, Bible study, and prayer. Life Groups exist to accomplish two vital goals of the Kingdom. First, to grow believers in our faith by connecting them on a more intimate level and helping them to become more like Jesus. The second goal is to expand the Kingdom of God by offering another venue besides the regular church service that may be initially less intimidating to seekers and those interested in finding out more about Jesus.

  • When you attend a Life Group, you can expect a warm time of fellowship, food, Bible study, and prayer. Life Groups are open to Christians and those who are seeking or investigating Jesus and His message. Long-term trust and relationships are nurtured, and loving support and accountability as followers of Jesus are cultivated on an ongoing basis.

  • Life Groups can meet almost any day and time of the week. Most of them meet on evenings or weekends, although there are some that meet during the day. While most groups meet in a consistent location (the church or the home of a leader or group member), some groups might prefer to take turns meeting in different members’ homes.

  • Though each group differs in how they do things, many groups enjoy a time of food and fellowship, in the beginning, then they transition to a time when they share in Bible study and pray for each other. Each group decides how much time they will spend on fellowship, Bible study sharing, and prayer.

  • Each Life Group will have a structured study that revolves around God’s Word. Examples of a structured study are things like:

A chapter-by-chapter study of one book of the Bible

    A One-Year Bible study

Sermons or Sermon Series by Respected Teachers / Preachers

    A Bible-based Christian book

Whatever curriculum is chosen, the primary time and discussion should revolve around each person sharing “What God is Teaching Me” from Scripture.

  • Each group is responsible for providing their own childcare. Some practical suggestions regarding childcare can include parents chipping in together to hire a babysitter either at the place they meet or at a nearby home (New Life Youth students love to babysit!). Each group can decide how to handle this issue in the most appropriate way for their group. Groups meeting on Wednesday nights may bring the children to Kidzone from 6:00pm - 7:30pm.
